toy fox terrier

noun

: any of a breed of small, intelligent, alert terriers that have large, erect ears, are 8.5 to 11.5 inches (21.6 to 29.2 centimeters) in height and 3.5 to 7 pounds (1.6 to 3.2 kilograms) in weight, and were developed by crossing smooth fox terriers with various toy dogs (such as the Chihuahua, Italian greyhound, or toy Manchester terrier)

Note: The toy fox terrier has a short, glossy coat with a body that is chiefly white and a head that is predominantly black, brown, or tan. To avoid disqualification in show dogs, the color of the spots on the body must correspond to the predominant head color.
