: an abnormal condition of blood vessels of the gastrointestinal tract and especially the intestine in which vessels are thin, fragile, and enlarged

Note: Angiodysplasia is often asymptomatic but intestinal bleeding may occur.

Angiodysplasia accounts for 70% of all cases of obscure GI bleeding in the elderly.
