borrowed from Tuvan akša, literally, "money"; akin to or borrowed from a widespread word for "money" or "coin" in modern Turkic languages (as Kazakh aqša, Kyrgyz & Tatar akča, Turkish akça, akçe) from ak "white" + -ča, diminutive and attenuating suffix
